Will More nd More Companies Follow Suit

The days of the ridiculous peeing in a cup so businesses could discipline (and or fire) employers for cannabis use may be coming to an end. We all hope!  With Amazon now supporting cannabis legalization for recreational purposes at both the state and federal level more archaic thinking and punitive dominoes will  fall. On to the article. Cannabis testing was mandatory for workers in multiple firms, including Amazon, and applicants had to pass drug tests to get a job or continue it. The trend of marijuana legalization and decriminalization is spreading quickly and is changing this norm.  Moreover, the number of states that have legalized pot is increasing. It impacts the entire community and increases the demand for designing a regulatory system, a monitoring system. Passing the cannabis legalization and decriminalization regulations means it's time to make some other changes such as alteration of employee hiring criteria, alteration of testing protocols, and many others.  Amazon Ch

The vote was 29 to 9. Recommended Stoner Flicks For 2021

Image
From Freedom Leaf magazine. The four best stoner flicks to take in in 2021.   Stoner movies are funny, whether you watch them baked or not. Well, they’re funnier when you watch it baked, of course. But that’s the nature of stoner movies–funny, goofy, idiotic, ridiculous. They’re not supposed to win Oscars, although they did have an award-giving body of their own–the Stony Awards. Unfortunately, the Stony Awards have been discontinued, more’s the pity. But you know what? Any movies you watch while high is technically a stoner movie. A documentary about pink dolphins? Of course! A movie about hobbits and wizards and elves? You bet! Although it’s a pity nobody has yet made a stoner movie about the adventures of Merry and Pippin, which would’ve been the bee’s knees. A stoner movie is usually about a couple of guys getting stoned and going on spontaneous adventures. But not all stoner movies fit that description. Some stoner movies have women protagonists, and some don’t even deal with exce

Being Up Front and Straight With Teenage Children About Cannanbis

Image
Found the following  interesting and entertaining article on parenting in these time of growing cannibis legalization and broad acceptance in our society. Excerpt below. CLN -  I n the words of Bob Dylan, the times they are a-changing, and  parenting  is like trying to build IKEA furniture without instructions. For many, the way we had   cannabis   explained to us growing up isn’t the same way we’d approach it with our kids now. I’m sure plenty of Satanic-panic era parents probably remember the fire and brimstone and “weed is a gateway to  hard drugs ” D.A.R.E-esque evangelism. Still, explaining cannabis to kids can be a tough conversation, and we want to approach it without lying or coming across hypocritical.  Fortunately for me, my family were low-key smokers, meaning they didn’t exactly hide it, but they didn’t advertise the fact they smoked more than one kind of cigarette. I thought the plants in the greenhouse were tomato plants — even though it was always odd how we never had

Time To Ignore President Biden's Obviously Outmoded Objections To Federal Cannabis Legalization and Just Get It Done

Image
It is time for President Biden to educate himself on cannabis benefits, understand his egregiously outdated knowledge of cannabis, and his unjustified and immoral support for the 1994 crime bill that resulted in the explosion in the prison population for the non violent crime of smoking weed. An activity that hurt NO ONE.  If Biden refuses to pull his head out of the darkness then congress and the senate should force his hand. Get a law to decriminalize and legalize out of both houses and see what Bisen does. Hopefully he actually places his trust in the America people as he so often said he does. It is time to PROVE it. On to the article... Anyone surprised that Joe Biden would scrutinize the weed-smoking habits of his White House staff hasn't paid attention to one of the more consistent policy threads of his decades-long career. He’s just not ready to embrace cannabis. Despite a shift in public opinion toward legalizing marijuana over the past 30 years, the president’s more con

It Is Time To Rectify the Damage Caused By the Immoral "War on Drugs"

Image
It is clear the actual  intented purposes behind Richard Nixon's failed "War on Drugs", his most lasting legacy, was actually quite successful . Putting peop le of color behind bars . The "War on Drugs" lie is right up their with other racist legacies of America. Like slavery, Jim Crow laws,  the attempted genocide of our native poopuatiion, the imprisonment of Japaneese America during WW II, and more. Excerpt from Stoner The War on Drugs is finally experiencing a long-overdue counterattack from the states enacting plans for marijuana legalization. Recent data supports the assertion that both African Americans and Caucasians consume marijuana equally.  Despite this, there is a huge disparity between the number of minorities and white americans being penalized and incarcerated for cannabis use or possession. African Americans, Hipics, and Caucasians each make up about 30% of the population in Oakland, California, but over 95% of the arrests for marijuana involv

A Large Majority Of the American Populace Know... It's Time the Feds Catch Up

Image
WASHINGTON, D.C.  – The vast majority of Americans—83 percent—believe the  war on drugs  has been a spectacular failure leading only to increased drug-related harms and prison overcrowding, according to a new poll. The poll also revealed 66 percent of Americans support “ eliminating criminal penalties for drug possession  and reinvesting drug enforcement resources into treatment and addiction services.” In addition, 64 percent of Americans support repealing mandatory minimum sentences for drug crimes, and 61 percent support commuting or reducing the sentences of people incarcerated for drugs. The numbers—which are strikingly similar across all political persuasions—indicate Americans not only are ready for a new policy direction but also want to  address failed current policies retroactively . June 17 marked fifty years since  President Richard M. Nixon  declared drugs “public enemy number one,” sparking the infamous “war” that has cost taxpayers more than $1 trillion and incarcerate
