Repubs In DC Seek Ban On Welfare Sales At Dispensaries

Image
Once again conservative republicans in Washigton DC (and we assume elsewhere as well) are showing us they do NOT believe American adults have the intelligence or individual right to make choices for their own lives and well being. Apparently unless what folks want fits neatly into the conservative republican agendas they are often simply SOL. So much for the conservative republican mantra of liberty, liberty, liberty. It may be applicable for some but CERTAINLY not for all. With conservative republicans one always needs to be suspect. On to the article... Culture Magazine - Re publican lawmakers in Washington, D.C. have introduced legislation that would ban the spending of federal welfare benefits at cannabis dispensaries. Two pending pieces of legislation include language to prohibit the use of welfare benefits at marijuana retailers, including a wide-reaching Senate welfare reform bill and a stand-alone measure in the House of Representatives. In the Senate, Republican Senator St

Vape Review, CloudV Platinum

Image
Back from an abdominal strain (still recuperating actually) and while high on one of my favorite hybrids, GSC, ran across a post on Stoner that I think is worth reprinting. It covers the CloudV Platinum vape. An affordable vape for oil I certainly plan on trying out. It just might replace my current traveling vape pen! On to the article... Stoner - With legalization sweeping the U.S., portable vaporizers have been evolving  almost as quickly as smartphones. The market is largely split into specialize makes several flower vaporizers, but it’s their CloudV Platinum for oil, that really has me hooked. Most oil vaporizers work similarly; a replaceable heating chamber (atomizer) and rod (made of ceramic, quarts, or titanium) are wrapped in titanium wire, and heated to glowing red temperatures. This often results in my premium-priced oil (or homemade rosin) tasting burnt. Not to mention that the small titanium wires are extremely fragile, and replacement chambers run $20 each. The CloudV

An American Corporation With Some Very Good Common Sense!

Amazon endorsed legal weed. Will it now fight to make it happen? The company’s money and power could be a game-changer for federal cannabis policy. It's not  too far fetched to think a rational, intelligent, and successful company  with lots of money and the power money brings with it would be the vehicle to wake up a government that had been lying about cannabis for nearly 100 years. As well as imprisoning good folks for consuming what is known to be a healthful as well as enjoyable experience. On to the article. When it announced its support for lawmakers’ efforts to decriminalize weed last month, Amazon didn’t just become the biggest company in America to back marijuana legalization, it captivated the cannabis industry in the process. Now, as bills pushing legalization remain stuck in Congress, activists fighting for liberalized cannabis laws are hoping the e-commerce giant will take the next step and use its considerable D.C. muscle to help get them passed. Lobbyists for lega

You Pay Through the Nose For Your Canna-Meds

'Ridiculous' price of medical marijuana leaves patients scrambling Many people who use the drug to treat chronic conditions are priced out of their state’s medical marijuana program. Patrick McClellan was thrilled when he learned that his home state of Minnesota was legalizing medical marijuana in 2014. For McClellan, a former chef who had been on disability since he developed a rare form of muscular dystrophy, the drug provided the best relief for his painful muscle spasms. But six years after Minnesota rolled out its medical marijuana program, McClellan is still buying pot off the street. The reason is simple, he says: It’s far cheaper. “I'm paying a lot of money every month in out-of-pocket copays for my medication,” said McClellan, 54. “On top of that, I have to pay ridiculous prices for medical cannabis in the state of Minnesota." He said he spends about $125 to $150 a month on black market weed. The equivalent product purchased through the state program would c

A Long Awaited POTENTIAL Correction To Our Immoral And Archaic Cannabis Prohibition At The Federal Level

It's time for the President to get solidly behind these efforts! MjBizDaily -  Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer reportedly on Wednesday  will release a “discussion draft”  of a long-awaited marijuana reform bill. The measure is expected to: Remove the plant from the federal Controlled Substances Act. Impose a federal tax. Largely leave states in control of deciding how to approach legalization. Benefit individuals and communities affected by the war on drugs. Largely leave states in control of deciding how to approach legalization. The bill is being called the Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act, according to Bloomberg News and other media outlets, but it’s unclear when the measure will actually be introduced and considered by lawmakers. Biden Administration To Push For Lossening Of Cannibis Restrictions On Athletes

Image
One of the world's fastest runners, a young black female, has been suspended by the Olympic Committee and will be barred from competition in the upcoming games due to her cannabis use.  To its credit the Biden administration is pushing the Anti-Doping Agency for a meeting to loosen restrictions on canabis use by athletes. A very good and noble thing. Albeit belatedly. Perhaps this will be the back door beginnings of the Bisen administration actually doing something about the antiquated and immoral prohibition on cannabis at the federal level.. On to the article. Star sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson was left off the US Olympic team because she tested positive for marijuana. The White House is seeking the meeting through the US Office of National Drug Control Policy, which has a seat on the foundation board of Wada, the international body responsible for governance of anti-doping in global sport, including the Olympic Games. The board is next scheduled to meet on November 25, but the

"Canna-Tourism"

Image
Planning your summer vacation? Consider a cannabis friendly location for some great high times! On to your "canna-toursm" article. Stoner -   Globally, things are changing for that plant with the star-shaped leaves. Uruguay, Spain, Portugal, and Canada are just a few of the countries worldwide that have either legalized or decriminalized marijuana around the world. In the United States alone, you have Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Maine, Alaska, Nevada, and Washington, D.C. They have all legalized the recreational use of the drug. However, this means that there are still many states that have kept it illegal to use, cultivate, or possess. There is a silver lining in this disparity. For those in  legalized states and countries , a growing industry dubbed “canna-tourism” has blossomed, and several places have become vacation destinations for medical users and cannabis connoisseurs alike. But where to go, where to go? Well, make your flight reservatio
