Will Delta 8 THC Find Its Way to the Shelves Of Dispensaries In Other States

Image
Delta 8 THC has hit the shelves of stores in Ohio. It is another component of the hemp plant that produces psychoactive effects but its chemical components are not illegal under Ohio law. Therefore Delta 8 THC is presently not regulated and is available in convenience stores, gas stations, and online to name a few. Here's hoping the product becomes available everywhere in America and that the feds leave well enough alone for a change. On to the story. As the  cannabis  industry is flourishing, new products are on the market, stores in Ohio have the latest hemp-containing product. Bills to legalize marijuana and decriminalize it are getting approval from lawmakers and officials at the state level. Competition in the marijuana business is also likely to increase as more investors are attracted to weed activities. People who are already in the cannabis   business in Ohio or other areas are working hard to expand their companies or organizations by retaining their position in the mar

Mississippi Supreme Court Overturns the Will of the People

Image
We are a nation founded on the principal of self rule . In many ways and in many states that principal is honored and the will of the people is heard and it becomes law. But certainly not in all states and not in every case and every state. Such is the state in Mississippi. Story below. Cannabis Business Executive - Mississippi was supposed to join dozens of other states with medical marijuana programs. People looking to grow and dispense marijuana for medical purposes were making plans, some spending millions on land and buildings. Those eligible under the list of 22 debilitating conditions were counting on it come August. On Friday, the Mississippi Supreme Court flipped that reality upside down. Its  decision to overrule a voter-approved medical marijuana initiative  has sparked outrage from several organizations. Some have started petitions, one coalition called for a boycott of the city of Madison — its mayor filed the lawsuit that was before the court — and another is planning a r

My Kinda Town!

Taking photos in front of a sign welcoming visitors to Weed, Calif. Credit... Max Whittaker for The New York Times No Longer the ‘Devil’s Lettuce’: How the Town of Weed Embraced Weed . For decades, a rural California city winced at the puns. Now it’s cashing in WEED, Calif. — When they see the signs for Weed, carloads of curious travelers veer off the freeway to stop and gawk. They file into gift shops that sell “Weed Is So Dope” refrigerator magnets and sweatshirts advertising a fictional University of Weed: “A Place of Higher Learning.” For decades, the residents of Weed, a California lumber town an hour from the Oregon border, have felt like the butt of jokes, exasperated from the repetition of the Daily Explanation: No, the town is not named for marijuana but a local 19th-century timber baron, Abner Weed. For years, the town rejected proposals to leverage the name and allow the sale of marijuana. “I did not want a bunch of potheads sitting out in front of the store smoking doob

More History of Cannabis Use

Ancients enjoyed the myriad health and psychodelic benefits of cannabis.  Hopefully the wisdom of the ancients will take hold of federal lawmakers and the federal prohibition against a plant that is both healthful  and enjoyable will soon end. It has damaged more than enough folks lives over the last 100 years. Robert Spengler An association between weed and the dead turns out to have been established long before the 1960s and far beyond  a certain ur-band’s stomping grounds in San Francisco. Look To the Ancients

Image
How the Ancients Used Cannabis- 8000 Years Ago It certainty seems that ancients were a whole lot  smarter than the moderns ln the USA government legislators. Without a doubt! labroots - Cannabis is one of the oldest known psychoactive drugs. Used in cultures around the world for thousands of years for various reasons. From making clothes to being eaten and relieving people from pain, its relatively recent classification as a Schedule 1 Drug in 1970 seems to be a small blip in its long history.  The first recorded usage of cannabis is from 8000 BC, in an ancient village in Taiwan. There, it seems that the Taiwanese chose hemp fibers to spn into the first fabrics, thus no longer relying on animal skin for clothing. Further evidence has been found suggesting that these ancient people also used marijuana to manufacture shoes thanks to its sturdy nature, wide availability and cheaper price point than silk.   As time progressed, so did the usage of cannabis- soon being used in more fields

Did Jesus Partake of Cannabis and Use It in Ritualistic Healing

Image
I am not now and never have been a religious person. I did read the bible and a bit of the Koran before deciding that religion is nothing really but an organized way to play with folks minds. But of course that is just me and as in most things there certainly is room for disagreement. But that is not really the point of this post, Jesus Christ we know was a real person. We also know that in his day he was a passionate religious firebrand and as a result he was despised by Jewish holy men of his day. And thus Christianity was born and Jess was crucified on the cross. Anyway, I've found myself musing about whether Jesus might has used cannabis himself lor kin his healing of others. So I did a bit of digging and the following is what I found... Herb -  Comedians love to speculate that Jesus didn’t have magic powers, but rather he was a savvy magician in a period when a simple card trick must have looked like sorcery.  Instead of magic tricks, though, studies show that Jesus likely
